Frequently Asked Questions about Basketball Career Simulator

What is Basketball Career Simulator?
Basketball Career Simulator is a free text-based basketball career game you play in the browser. You start at 18 on a college scholarship, decide when to declare for the draft, then play season by season in the pro league: earn minutes, sign contracts in free agency, win championships and awards, and retire with a legacy rating. There is no download and no account.
How does the draft work?
After every college season you can return to school or declare. Scouts give you a projection, from Top 5 pick to Undrafted, and they value potential and youth as much as your current rating. First-round picks get a four-year rookie deal scaled by the pick; second-rounders get two years. Undrafted players can still make it through the development league or Europe.
How do I get more minutes?
Your role, from Franchise Star to Out of Rotation, comes from your overall rating against your team's strength plus the coach's trust. Film study, good seasons and asking the coach at the right time all help. If you are stuck, request a trade or pick a team in free agency where you will start.
How does my player improve?
Players grow fastest in their late teens and early twenties, more when they play real minutes and when the coaching is good. Choose a training focus attribute and add extra workouts, but watch your fitness. A hidden potential caps how good you can get; the scouts' star rating is a rough guide. Decline starts after 30, athleticism first.
Are the teams and leagues real?
No. The world is fictional: 24 colleges, a 24-team Pro Basketball League in two conferences with an 82-game season and best-of-seven playoffs, a Development League, a European Pro League, and national teams from 18 countries playing for the World Championship.
What happens when I retire?
You can retire from age 32, and every career ends by 42. Your career card shows pro games, points, championships, All-Star selections and a legacy tier from Dreamer to Greatest of All Time. Your legacy score goes on the weekly leaderboard, and if you had children you can carry on as your son or daughter.
Does my career save?
Yes. The game saves your career in this browser after every action when local storage is available. Clearing browser data or private browsing can remove the save.

About Basketball Career Simulator

Basketball Career Simulator is a free online basketball career game. You play one player from an 18-year-old college freshman to retirement, one season at a time. Choose a position (point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward or center) and develop seven attributes, Inside scoring, Three-point, Passing, Ball handling, Rebounding, Defense and Athleticism, into an overall rating. A hidden potential decides your ceiling; the scouts only give you a star estimate.

The draft is the first big decision. Stay in college and you may improve, or the scouts may cool on you; declare early and your youth counts in your favour. First-round picks sign four-year rookie deals, second-rounders two, and undrafted players fight their way up through the development league or Europe. In the pros, minutes depend on your rating against your team and on the coach's trust, and every summer free agency asks whether you want the money, the minutes or a ring.

The world is fictional and alive: 24 college programs, a 24-team pro league in two conferences with 82-game seasons and best-of-seven playoffs, a development league, a European league and national teams from 18 countries. Earn Rookie of the Year, All-Star selections, MVP and Finals MVP, then retire with a legacy tier from Dreamer to Greatest of All Time and continue the family story as your own child. Everything runs in your browser with no download and saves automatically.
