Frequently Asked Questions about American Football Career Simulator

What is American Football Career Simulator?
A free text-based American football career game you play in the browser. You start at birth, play high school football, pick a college on signing day, enter the draft, then play 17-game pro seasons with playoffs and a Championship Game. Sign contracts, survive injuries, make All-Star teams and retire with a legacy rating. No download, no account.
Which positions can I play?
Ten: quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end, offensive line, defensive line, linebacker, cornerback, safety and kicker. Each position has its own stats: passing yards and touchdowns for a quarterback, rushing yards for a running back, catches for receivers, tackles and sacks on defense, field goals for a kicker.
How does the draft work?
You can enter the draft after three college seasons, or stay for a fourth. Scouts give you a projection from Top 10 pick to Undrafted, based on your rating, your ceiling, your last season and a pro day. The draft has seven rounds of 32 picks. Every pick signs a four-year rookie deal, and first-rounders earn far more. Undrafted players can still make it from a practice squad or the spring league.
How do injuries work?
Injuries are the biggest risk in the game. A season can bring a hamstring pull, a sprained ankle, a concussion, a torn ACL or a torn Achilles, and each one asks you to choose: rest and rehab, or play through it. Rushing back can make it worse and cost speed for good. Running backs get hurt most and kickers least. Too many serious injuries and the team doctors may tell you it is time to stop.
Are the teams and leagues real?
No. Everything is fictional: 32 colleges, a 32-team Pro Football League in two conferences, a spring league, and awards like All-Star, Most Valuable Player and Championship Game MVP.
What is the Career of the day?
Everyone gets the same newborn player each day, with one goal to reach, such as getting drafted in the first round or making an All-Star team. Meet the goal on consecutive days to build a streak.
Does my career save?
Yes. The game saves in this browser after every action when local storage is available. Clearing browser data or private browsing can remove the save.

About American Football Career Simulator

American Football Career Simulator is a free online football career game. You play one player from birth to retirement: grow up in the backyard, play Friday nights in high school, and choose a college from your scholarship offers on signing day. Pick one of ten positions, from quarterback to kicker, and build nine attributes (Arm strength, Accuracy, Football IQ, Speed, Hands, Strength, Tackling, Coverage and Kicking) into an overall rating. A hidden potential sets your ceiling.

After three college seasons you can enter a seven-round draft. In the pros you play 17-game seasons in a 32-team league, with seven playoff teams per conference and a Championship Game. Snaps depend on your rating against your team and on the coach's trust. Injuries are always one hit away: rest a torn hamstring or play through it, rehab a torn ACL or rush back for the playoffs. Every off-season brings free agency, contract years, holdouts and the risk of being released.

The world is fictional: 32 colleges, a pro league, a spring league and awards like All-Star, Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, Most Valuable Player and Championship Game MVP. Retire with a legacy tier from Dreamer to Greatest of All Time, get voted into the Hall of Fame, and play on as your own child. A new Career of the day comes every day. Everything runs in your browser with no download and saves automatically.
