What Is Phrazle?

Phrazle is a word puzzle game where you guess a hidden phrase instead of a single word. Think of it as Wordle, but instead of guessing one 5-letter word, you are guessing an entire idiom or common expression.

You get 6 attempts to guess the phrase. After each guess, the tiles change color:

• Green means the letter is correct and in the right position
• Yellow means the letter is in the phrase but in the wrong position
• Gray means the letter is not in the phrase at all

How to Play

1. Read the hint. The word lengths are shown as underscores separated by spaces. This tells you how many words are in the phrase and how long each word is.
2. Type your guess. Enter words separated by spaces. Each word must match the exact letter count shown in the hint.
3. Read the colors. Green, yellow, and gray tiles tell you which letters are correct, misplaced, or absent.
4. Refine your guess. Use the color information to narrow down the phrase. Start with common letters like E, A, T, S.
5. Solve in 6 tries. You have 6 attempts to guess the phrase correctly.

Tips and Strategy

Start with common letters. Your first guess should use frequent letters like E, A, R, S, T, N, O, I. Try a phrase that uses as many different common letters as possible.

Pay attention to word structure. If you know a word is 3 letters and starts with T, common options include THE, TWO, TIP, TEN. Use word length to narrow down possibilities.

Think in idioms. Phrazle uses common English expressions. If you see "_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _" (5-3-4), start thinking of phrases with that pattern like "BREAK THE MOLD" or "SPILL THE BEANS."

Use the keyboard colors. The on-screen keyboard shows which letters you have used and their status. Gray letters can be eliminated from all future guesses.
