What Is Antiwordle?

Antiwordle flips the Wordle formula on its head. Instead of trying to guess the hidden word, your goal is to avoid guessing it for as long as possible. The longer you survive, the better your score.

After each guess, you get standard Wordle feedback: green means the letter is in the correct position, yellow means it is in the word but wrong spot, and gray means it is not in the word. But here is the twist: you must follow the constraints.

The Constraint Rules

• Green letters are locked. If a letter turns green, you must use it in that exact position for all future guesses
• Yellow letters must be included. If a letter turns yellow, every future guess must contain that letter somewhere
• Gray letters are banned. If a letter turns gray, you cannot use it again

These constraints gradually force you closer to the answer. The challenge is finding valid words that satisfy all constraints while still avoiding the target word.

How Is Antiwordle Different from Absurdle?

Absurdle is adversarial: the game changes the hidden word to dodge your guesses. You are trying to guess, and the game is trying to prevent you.

Antiwordle is the opposite: the word is fixed from the start, but YOU are trying to avoid guessing it. The game gives honest feedback, and you have to work around the constraints. It is a completely different type of challenge.

Strategy Tips

• Avoid common letters early. Starting with uncommon letters (X, Z, Q, J) keeps more options open
• Think about what constraints you create. Each guess reveals information that locks you in further
• Use the edges of the alphabet. Words with rare letters are less likely to match the target
• Watch your yellows. Yellow letters must appear but can be in any position. Try placing them where they are least likely to turn green
• The endgame is the hardest. As more letters lock green, your options shrink rapidly. A score of 10+ is excellent

Daily mode gives everyone the same hidden word, making scores directly comparable. Random mode lets you practice unlimited rounds with different words each time.
