Frequently Asked Questions about Stock Market Simulator

What is Stock Market Simulator?
A free stock trading game you play in the browser. You get fictional money to trade twelve made-up companies and an index fund. Each turn is one trading day: read the news, buy or sell, then press Next day. Rise from intern to junior trader, fund manager, hedge fund boss and market legend. No download, no account and no real money.
Are the companies real?
No. Every company, ticker and headline is fictional, and prices come from a game model, not a real market. It is a game, not investment advice.
How do I get promoted?
Each rank ends with a review. As an intern you need to make 2%. A junior trader must stay within 2 points of the index, a fund manager must beat it, and a hedge fund boss must beat it by 3 points. Miss once and you get one more try on probation. Miss again and you are out.
Why is the index so hard to beat?
The index fund holds all twelve companies, so one bad pick cannot sink it, and it pays no trading fees after you buy it. Every trade you make costs a small fee, and guessing short moves is hard. Reading the news carefully is the best edge in the game: confirmed good news often keeps going the next day, while rumours can turn out false.
What are limit and stop-loss orders?
A limit order waits for your price: a buy fills at or below it, a sell at or above it. A stop-loss sells for you if the price falls to a level you pick. Orders check each new closing price, so they work while you skip a week or use auto-play.
What is the Daily Market?
Thirty trading days with $10,000 and the same news and prices for every player that day. Your score is how many points you finish ahead of or behind the index. Share your week-by-week result and keep a daily streak.
Can my class play together?
Yes. Type any class or friends code, such as ROOM12, and everyone who types the same code gets the same 30-day market. No sign-up is needed: compare scores at the end.
What are Crash Eras?
Five scenarios shaped like famous market crashes: a 1929-style crash, a dot-com style tech bubble, a 2008-style credit crunch, a fast 2020-style dip and a meme share mania. They use the fictional companies and open as your career rank rises. Earn up to three stars in each.
Does my career save?
Yes. Your career saves in this browser after every day when local storage is available. Clearing browser data or private browsing can remove it.

About Stock Market Simulator

Stock Market Simulator is a free online stock market game. You trade twelve fictional companies in six sectors (tech, energy, shops, health, banks and cars) plus an index fund that holds them all. One turn is one trading day. Each day brings two to four headlines: company news, sector news, the economy, quarterly earnings and rumours that may or may not be true. Prices react in a seeded market model with rising, steady, falling and crash spells, so reading the news is the skill.

In the career you start as an intern with $10,000 and work up to junior trader, fund manager, hedge fund boss and market legend. Each rank ends with a review against the index. Weekly cards bring client calls, boss requests, life choices and the odd illegal tip, which can pay but may bring the regulator to your door. Spend your own pay on treats that lower stress, then retire with a legacy score and a place in your Hall of Fame.

The Daily Market gives everyone the same 30 days each day, with a shareable week-by-week result. A class or friends code gives a group the same market with no sign-up, which suits a classroom contest. Crash Eras replay the shape of famous crashes with the fictional companies. There is no real money, no real data and no advice: it is a game.

How to Play
