Build 8 complete K→A same-suit sequences to clear all cards
Choose Difficulty
Build complete sequences of cards from King down to Ace in the same suit. When a complete K-A same-suit sequence is formed, it is automatically removed from the tableau. Remove all 8 sequences to win.
Click a face-up card to select it, then click a destination to move. You can move a group of cards only if they form a descending sequence of the same suit (e.g., 8-7-6 of spades). A card or group can be placed on a card that is one rank higher (regardless of suit). Any card can be placed on an empty column.
Click the stock pile to deal one new card to each of the 10 columns. All columns must have at least one card before dealing. There are 5 deals available (50 cards total in the stock).
Spider Solitaire was included in Windows 98 Plus! and became a permanent fixture of Microsoft Windows installations worldwide. The name references a spider's eight legs, reflecting the eight foundation piles needed to win the game. Spider is considerably harder than Klondike Solitaire: one-suit mode has about a 99% win rate with perfect play, but four-suit mode drops below 40%, making it one of the most challenging card games you can play solo. Managing ten tableau columns demands deep strategic planning, as every move you make opens or closes possibilities several turns ahead. The key skill is keeping same-suit sequences together whenever possible, because mixed-suit stacks cannot be moved as a group.
