Frequently Asked Questions about Deep Mine

What is Deep Mine?
Deep Mine is a free browser idle mining game where you dig through 50 layers of earth, discover rare ores, hire miners, buy drills, and upgrade your operation. The deeper you go, the richer the ores — but the harder the rock. Prestige with an Earthquake to reset and earn permanent gem bonuses that make each run faster.
How does prestige work in Deep Mine?
There are 3 prestige tiers. Gems (Earthquake): available from layer 15+, resets depth and upgrades, earns gems for the gem shop. Relics (Cataclysm): resets gems too, earns relics after 100 total gems, unlocks the relic shop. Artifacts (Dimensional Collapse): the ultimate reset after 10 total relics, unlocks permanent artifact upgrades that last forever.
Does Deep Mine work offline?
Yes! Once you unlock Auto-Miner (layer 5) and Offline Earnings upgrades, your miners keep working while you are away — up to 8 hours. Upgrade the Offline Earnings skill to increase the cap. When you return, you see how many coins your team collected. The Offline Boost gem shop upgrade further increases earnings.
How long does it take to finish Deep Mine?
Reaching layer 50 on your first run takes many hours, but that is only the beginning. The three-tier prestige system (gems, relics, artifacts) adds weeks of progression. Each prestige makes subsequent runs faster, so experienced players can blast through early layers in minutes. Completionists aiming for all upgrades and achievements can expect months of play.
Is Deep Mine free?
Completely free! Play directly in your browser on PlayBrain with no downloads, no accounts, and no paywalls. Your progress saves automatically to your browser storage so you can pick up where you left off any time.

About Deep Mine

Deep Mine draws inspiration from classic idle mining games like Mr. Mine and the prestige loop mechanics pioneered by Cookie Clicker. You start with nothing but your pickaxe and a shallow dirt layer, gradually hiring miners, acquiring drills, and unlocking automation systems that let the mine run itself. Each of the 50 layers introduces new ore types — from basic clay and coal near the surface to mythril and void crystals deep in the earth — with exponentially increasing values that make every new zone feel like a major breakthrough. Boss layers at depths 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 punctuate the progression with HP walls that require sustained effort to overcome. The three-tier prestige system (gems, relics, artifacts) gives the game months of depth: each reset resets your mine but leaves you permanently stronger, so the 10th prestige run blasts through early layers in minutes instead of hours.
