How to Play

• 1.A color word (like RED) will appear, but displayed in a potentially different color (like blue text). This is called the Stroop effect.
• 2.Decide: does the displayed color of the text match the word itself? Press Match or No Match.
• 3.You have 30 seconds. Each correct answer gives +1 point, wrong answers deduct 1 (minimum 0).
• 4.Use keyboard shortcuts: A / Left Arrow for Match, D / Right Arrow for No Match. The game gets harder as you progress!

The Stroop Effect

The Stroop effect demonstrates the interference between automatic word reading and color perception. When the word "RED" appears in blue, your brain must override the urge to read the word and instead focus on the ink color. This conflict slows reaction time and increases errors, making it a powerful test of cognitive control and selective attention.
