About Block Stack

Block Stack is PlayBrain's own falling-blocks puzzle. Pieces made of four blocks drop into a 10-wide well; you slide and rotate each one so it lands flat, and every complete row you make bursts and clears. Clear several rows in one drop and the celebration gets bigger, and every 10 rows the pieces fall a little faster. Falling-blocks puzzles go back to 1984, when Alexey Pajitnov made the original Tetris in Moscow; Block Stack is our free take on the idea, built for the browser with keyboard controls on a computer and swipe gestures on a phone. It is not made by or affiliated with The Tetris Company.

How to Play

  1. Use left and right arrow keys to position the falling piece where you want it.
  2. Press up arrow to rotate the piece and fit it into gaps.
  3. Press down for a soft drop or Space bar for an instant hard drop to the bottom.
  4. Complete full horizontal lines to clear them, score points, and prevent the board from filling up.
