Scan for Common Patterns First

Before hunting individual words, scan the board for high-value letter combinations:

• Common prefixes: UN-, RE-, PRE-, OUT-, OVER-
• Common suffixes: -ING, -ED, -ER, -EST, -TION, -LY, -NESS
• Letter pairs: TH, CH, SH, QU, PH

If you spot an -ING cluster, every verb stem connecting to it becomes a potential word.

Work Systematically

Start from one corner and work through each letter as a potential word start. This prevents you from staring at the middle of the board and missing obvious words in the corners.

For each starting letter:

1. Check all 2-letter beginnings (that letter + each neighbor)
2. Extend promising beginnings into 3, 4, 5+ letter words
3. Move to the next starting position

Prioritize Long Words Early

Your brain is freshest in the first minute. Use that clarity to hunt for 6, 7, and 8-letter words. In the final minute, sweep for any short words you missed.
