Idle Dungeon Free Online — Auto-Battle RPG in Your Browser

Idle Dungeon is a free browser-based auto-battle RPG where your pixel art hero fights through 200 dungeon floors automatically. Spend gold on upgrades, collect equipment with five rarity tiers, and rebirth your character for permanent power multipliers. No download, no install — just open PlayBrain and your hero starts fighting immediately.

How Combat Works

Your hero attacks enemies once per second automatically. Each hit deals damage based on your Attack stat minus the enemy's Defense. Enemies hit back on their own timer. When an enemy dies, you collect gold and advance to the next floor. Every 25 floors you face a boss with higher HP and attack — clear the boss to unlock the next dungeon zone.

When your hero dies, there is a short respawn timer before combat resumes. You do not lose progress — just respawn and keep fighting. The game auto-saves every 5 seconds, and you earn offline gold while away (up to 8 hours).

The 5 Upgrades Explained

Open the Upgrades tab and spend gold on five stats:

Early-game tip: Rush Attack until you one-shot enemies. Then mix in Speed so your attack timer fires faster. Defense and HP become important around floors 50-75 when bosses hit hard.

Equipment and Loot

Enemies drop equipment with five rarity tiers — Common (grey), Uncommon (green), Rare (blue), Epic (purple), and Legendary (gold). Higher rarity means higher stat bonuses. Equipment fills four slots:

• Weapon — boosts Attack
• Armor — boosts Defense and HP
• Accessory — boosts Speed or Crit
• Rune — flexible stat bonuses

Open the Equipment tab to swap items in and out. The inventory holds 12 items max — if it fills up, lower-value items are auto-discarded when new loot drops. Check your inventory regularly and equip the best gear. Legendary drops are rare but can double or triple your output.

Rebirth System — When and Why

Rebirth resets your upgrade levels and floor progress but gives you a permanent gold multiplier. There are 10 rebirth tiers, each requiring you to reach a specific floor milestone first. Early rebirths (Tier 1-3) feel like a setback but you race back to your previous floor in a fraction of the time thanks to the gold multiplier stacking.

Rebirth Perks unlock progressively:

• Tier 1: +20% permanent gold, unlocks Mage class (high damage, lower HP)
• Tier 3: +20% gold again, unlocks Ranger class (fast attacks, high crit)
• Tier 5: Equipment persists through rebirth
• Tier 7: Auto-heal between fights

Wait until you are genuinely stuck on a floor for several minutes before rebirthing. Rebirthing too early wastes the potential gold you could have spent on upgrades that push you further.

Hero Classes

You start as a Warrior (balanced stats). Rebirth Tier 1 unlocks the Mage — deals more damage but has lower HP, great for speed-clearing floors once your Defense is solid. Rebirth Tier 3 unlocks the Ranger — the fastest attack speed with high crit rate, devastating once Speed upgrades are maxed.

Dungeon Zones

The 200 floors span four zones, each with new enemies and a distinct visual palette:

• Dungeon (floors 1-50): Tutorial zone, balanced enemies, learn the upgrade curve
• Forest (floors 51-100): Faster enemies, first gear drops become important
• Volcano (floors 101-150): Boss fights every 25 floors, equipment is essential
• Abyss (floors 151-200): Max difficulty, Legendary gear required to progress

Daily Quests and the Compendium

Check the Quests tab for three daily objectives — typically "kill 50 enemies," "earn 10,000 gold," or "reach floor X." Completing quests gives bonus gold rewards. The Compendium tab tracks every enemy type you have encountered. Filling it out rewards you with bonus gold multipliers once you defeat each enemy type for the first time.
